When Will Yahoo Answers Cease Operations .....?
I'm really serious about this question.
If you want to Delete it ... it's ok. I'll still enjoy asking and answering your questions along with everyone else.
I've lost another contact. I never saw him ask or answer rudely in anyway. I'm talking about Dirtybird ... (A big fan of the Atlanta Braves and Falcons.)
That's not why I ask the question.
I ask because ... if everyone keeps getting taken out because of the ridiculous hate then who will be left?
You can't take this stuff personal. It doesn't define who you are so let perceived insults slide on by as you live your life to the fullest
For all the people who have been reported and really didn't deserve it ... keep on coming back. Don't let them win.
If you know please tell me ... When Will Yahoo Answers Cease Operations .....
Thanks and thumbs up to all who answer! Just give me time to get back and read the answers.
(This question in no way is intended for chatting purposes. It was/is posted to get some of us to think about just how important this site is to all of us.)
Thank you for your answers! All of you. I really mean that. (smiling)
Troll Account :
That's a good question. (smiling) I have great contacts (even the ones who are guilty of reporting maliciously)
I can't always tell who they are since some of them think they have to have multiple accounts and keep changing their names ...
I respect everyone regardless of how they think.
Thanks!

I like this question. I was once number 7 on the top ten list for this category until my account got suspended. What Yahoo fails to understand is that this category is unique in that people don't always answer in a manner that is intended to get awarded best answer but instead use the question for an opening to talk smack. I expect for people to disagree and even argue with me. If you take that away then you take all the fun out of it. While I can agree if I ask a question about repairing my lawnmower and I get an answer that implied I was foolish for picking that brand of lawnmower or something like that I might get offended. But this is different. We should have bragging rights in this section and by the same token I should be able to tell someone that their team is a loser without worrying that I'm going to get reported. I agree with somebody else that said that you should not be able to have a report button until you reach level three or possibly even higher. If people get their feelings hurt that easily then perhaps they are in the wrong category.

Hey Friend- I've been around here over 3 1/2 years and have seen many a good Contact/Friend lose their account. I have also been victim to the Reporting Trolls that stalk. I can see my troll, cackling with glee in an insane way, clicking away on the keyboard (Anonymous, behind the computer screen- It gives one SUCH bravery, huh).
I can only hope that ppl don't let it keep them away. The Troll is only winning the battle. All I can say to those who are frustrated- Keep coming back. Watch how you ASK a question- Watch how you ANSWER a question (RTSO's 1st account got suspended due to an answer about sex). Watch who your contacts are and who has access to your account info. This includes FANS- a person can set up their account so fans are unable to latch on and get access to your account. Be careful NOT to chat (and NO you are NOT chatting- you are merely putting your thoughts on here). Never answer a question WITH a question. That'll get you, also.
With all that being said, I'm happy you are one of my great contacts. Lots of good ppl in Y!A Land taken down by haters. Thing is, the good outweighs the bad in here. Just gotta keep going. Hope you enjoyed the games yesterday. I look forward to Packers-Vikings tonight. Have a good day, Phillip. GO NFL!

Some people just don't have a life, period. They are so set in their ways, that anybody who doesn't agree with them will get a thumbs down and/or reported simply because they just can't even imagine for a second that they might actually be wrong. I'm convinced YA doesn't even read the posts that are reported because I've had mine deleted quite a few times when I didn't even say anything wrong. Oh well, there is nothing we can do about it.

Your asking this on a bad day for me man. I've had a troll asking questions about me all day today, and it's that sort of crap that will get me suspended. I don't retaliate because that's just the stupid thing to do. Dirtybird is a good mate of mine, I speak to him often and when he got suspended I couldn't figure out why either.
Don't get rid of the report button, that's the only thing that is on our side. People just need to grow up and talk about what this section is about, football.

Yahoo is the only site i know that depends on users but insults them by continually ignoring the need for a change. I must admit the violations system seems to have improved a little over the last couple of months, but still leaves a lot to be desired. You may have heard of people having committed suicide over online bullying, it's happened, but yahoo has to wake up to the fact that more bullying goes on here on a daily basis than anywhere. I've heard from adults and youngsters who have been driven to despair over YA, and several who swore never to return.
It's time to wake them up over in Yland!

It's a joke when anything can get reported. They need to change the reporting system. I myself think it should go away but this is the same kind of stuff that went on with (if anyone remembers them) the old message boards where it was a troll/flame fest.

My question was deleted because someone reported it and it was harmless.. I asked what would you like people on Y/A to know.. It was in polls and surveys.. I have read questions in there like not even questions if you know what i mean.. It was my first time to have a question deleted and it sucks.. But I know i am not the only one to have it done and won't be the last.. there will always be bully's in life.. Sad but true.. Ah well I won't let them win.. That's for sure...

Some people have no life at all. They get their kicks off by reporting everyone they don't agree with. I wonder sometimes if YA staff actually review the reports.

Unless Yahoo folds, I doubt Answers will be done away with all together. I wish they would only allow level 3 and higher folks to report! That'd get rid of the trolls reporting us seeing as they only last as level 1 before they get suspended.

I say get rid of the report buttons altogether. It's not like you are being forced to log on.
