Eric Grothe, unbelievable yesterday?

BQ: 2010 Premiers?
Really, amazing that in a close game, a winger could be the best player in a team, though Eric Grothe was nothing left. Do you think he is good enough to go back to playing representative football?
He had his chance at origin more then half a decade ago, though if anyone deserves another chance, it is him. He was playing reserve grade last year and I thought he was just awesome in a losing side.
what are his chances for Australia, or Origin in the future?

He was awesome. Definitely a top class player. He was so strong on the wing.

I think the SOO selectors should snub David Williams and select Grothe instead. Williams, in his Origins, made horrid choices and mistakes. Still, go MANLY 2010.

Definatley. He's always been a decent player. But, if he can rise to the important games like he showed yesterday than yeah, he could play Origin next year. Steve Turner was another winger that played well.

Yes, Eric was outstanding at the GF. Its like Hayne at the State of Origins... putting up the score to create the confident in the team. However, he has not come up to become the superstar like Hayne.. so don't think they will give him a chance. But he has potential to proof to the world that we are wrong. He has great potential to be Hayne if he put his foot in.
Really glad to share with you all on the thoughts as I was boiling at home and found this site to chat and share.... keep in touch!

I don't think he is that great but in the grandfinal he was fantastic, he gave so much and was one of the players i felt for when parra got totally outplayed, because he put in so much effort, great runs and gave his all right up to the end. Also Moi moi was one of the best, he never gave up. a player with Grothes attitude is what's needed in our N.S.W side

I agree that he was great yesturday, and has been good for the later half of the season. I think he has a good chance of playing representative footy someday, but personally I would wait a year or two before giving him a shot. You can never really tell with players like him whether his form will remain consistent.
2010: I'm hoping Broncos, but I'm thinking Doggies.

Yes he had a great game, but unfortunately he is inconsistent. Doesn't play to this standard regularly.
The selectors aren't known for taking a punt on unpredictable players.

He played awesome. But there are a lot of young outside backs in contention for Australia and NSW next year. A lot of them would be before him.

Yeah he was good, but he is no superstar.
