What is an offender card?
Here in Texas a number of times over the years, I have seen people pull out cards at checkout counters that appear to be of similar quality to drivers licenses, have their pictures and date of birth, and have in giant red letters the word "offender". What exactly IS this card for? Does this indicate the person is on probation or is this for sex offenders? Just extremely curious.

you get that kind of card when you get to state prison and you have to wear it at all times
and when most people get out of prison they dont have an ID card and the offender card is a form of ID
i had to use mine for almost 4 weeks until i could get an id

Tonite i got pulled over and the cop ran my id and came bck asking if i had an offender card but i never been to jail or any prison

it's for felons or other convicts who cannot get a license or are on probation.
