Why would the Obama administration be mad about our General in Afghanistan speaking the truth?

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/northame...

This story bothers me more than anything else this idiot has done. What are your thoughts? The bigger question is why do we have to hear about this in a British paper? I guess Barry pissing off the Brits has its advantages.

Update:

I am sory, but I respect the man for doing what he needs to do to win. He tried his chain of command, but Barry was too busy pimping Chicago to the IOC to help out. This man is doing whatever it takes to get the job done. God bless him.

First off McCrystal has forgotten more about military insurgent tactics in one day than the Obama adminstration combined.

Face it we elected a Beta Male, the last sled dog to lead our great country.

After reading the source a better question would be why doesn't the top commander in Afghanistan trust his own troops? American officials said that the top commander in Helmand, Maj. Gen. Mark Gurganus, had decided on Tuesday that no one would be armed while Mr. Panetta spoke to them. General Gurganus told reporters later that he wanted a consistent policy for everyone in the tent. “You’ve got one of the most important people in the world in the room,” he said. He insisted that his decision had nothing to do with the shooting on Sunday. “This is not a big deal,” he said.

Is this the same General who orchestrated the Pat Tillman coverup?

McChrystal is a general. Obama is the Commander in Chief. The chain of command is clear. If Obama gave a directive, McChrysal should follow it. Military discipline and chain-of-command are bigger issues than anyone's feelings about the current administration. A rogue military that operates outside of government is not a slope we want to start slipping down.

He wasn't necessarily speaking the "truth" but certainly McChrystal was discussing policy and strategy which are not his domain.

If the good general wishes to become a public policy expert, he should resign and enter politics.

Further, I hope Obama takes charge and fires his insubordinate general, who ought ot be conducting his war and not political gamesmanship.

Because Obama is a control freak and would rather hear what his Wall Street cabinet has to say rather than someone in a position that knows first hand what is needed to get rid of the Taliban.

Obama gets mad about it, ok

Under Bush he would have been fired for airing his opinion, just as several got fired for saying they needed more troops before the war even started, go figure.

Best to go through th e chain of command

Because the General should keep his mouth shut. He answers to the President, not the other way around.

Because Barry only cares about what the public thinks of him. He could care less what our soldiers are going through or what the General thinks. It's all about him, the rock star.

Because most generals work through their chain of command.
