What's with all the race questions?

Why all the random race questions today?

-Why so many white women dating black men?

-Why don't black people tip well?

-Why is there no White History Month?

Why does it matter, folks? Wouldn't we be better off celebrating our differences and learning from each other, than swelling on those differences and letting them divide us?

Update:

Evie- I agree that in the real world, we fear what we don't understand. So shouldn't we try to learn from each other and come to understand each other's cultures? I also agree that you can't just forget about the past, nor should you ignore it. You know what they say about being "doomed to repeat it". But it's it wrong to hate people of a certain race based on the history of their culture before you know where they stand on the issue? I acknowledge what my ancestors did and make no excuses for it. But I'm no more responsible for their deeds than I am for the deeds of my next door neighbors.

Its because people feel insecure and feel a need to bash someone else. They don't realize they gain nothing by trying to do it.

Well this is the "cultures" section honey. I mean I don't mean to be rude but if you don't like the topics then...

I do agree that some questions tend to be ignorant and many are from racist trolls, but race is important. Race influences culture more often than not and culture is everything that we are. Okay not everything but it influences how you think and how you see other people.

I think it is great to think that the only focus on differences should be to celebrate and learn from one another but this is the real world. People fear what they don't understand, and most people are not too comfortable with "differences." Also, when those differences are the result of centuries of racism well we aren't just going to forget that so that we can all hold hands and sing kumbaya. History is important to me and sometimes history sparks anger and frustration in people and that manifests into hatred. You just have to take it with a grain of salt and accept that this is how we work.

I'm black and I get pissed off with racism sometimes and this site can make your anger worse sometimes lol but I just have to sit back and remember that generalizations only hold so much truth and you have to see people for who they are not the color of their skin. I have friends of all different races and they keep me sane when the computer shuts off haha

EDIT: No I am agreeing with you I was just explaining why people react this way. You are a smart girl, keep your head straight. You are right. Yes, yes, yes. :]

Trust me, I was here since 2007 and it had many race question a lot.

I was suspended like 20times because of them.

2009 has seen many race-racist questions, and almost 80% of them are black related.
