Extracting .arc files in XP?
I have downloaded some large .arc files (~ 500mb), but not being able to extract them in XP.
I tried all the extractors available: 7zip, Peazip and so on.
The error given by Peazip is some like: "not enough memory", but I have 2 gigs RAM and 28 gigs of disk space.
Had anybody encountered similar problems?
Any guidance will be highly appreciated.

You can free RAM memory by quitting unneeded programs.
-or-
Restart Windows.
-or-
Restart Windows in safe mode* and try again.
*Note: On start up (before Windows loads) keep tapping either F5 or F8 then use arrow keys to highlight 'Safe Mode with networking' click on a user account, enter the password (if you don't know it, there probably isn't one so leave it blank) and hit enter/return.

make sure that you extract the file in a partition that has more free space then the file
check the properties of the drive to make sure you have enough free space
if necessary, free some space
