Good book for 14 year old girl?

I am open to anything except the Twilight Series, the Clique series, and the Harry Potter series.

Lately I've been reading the John Green books and they're great. So maybe something along those lines.

Depends on the girl. She might like Meredith Pierce's Fantasy books about strong young women. Or Jacqueline Wilson for gritty realism. Or the early Jane Austen for romance - and irony. I like Laurie Halse Anderson. And Stephenie Meyer, of course, so she can talk about her reading with her friends. Or ask your local librarian. They'll know what's popular in your area and for your reading tastes.
