Is 'prat' an acceptable word in a child's picture book?

I'm writing a picture book and I think it's fine, my husband not. I'm from Northern England - what do you think?

Update:

Under nine - 4-7year old.

Context - (it rhymes) 'she didn't like the colour and it made her feel a prat.'

Update 2:

No it doesn't mean that in England. The word you'd be looking for (women's privates) would begin with TW.......

    What does the word prat mean to You? To most americans I think it

    means a woman's private parts.

    How young are we talking? If the target audience is younger than 9 then no. If older, then yes, though not if it's used excessively.
