Can I deposit a check through atm?

I received a check from my old insurance company, and prefer to keep my money in the bank instead of in pocket.

so i wondered if I can deposit this check through atm ( like one at a 7-11) not my banks atm.

    just go to the atm at your bank- they will have deposit envelopes, etc there... and your atm card will allow you to open the door and access the machine (in most banks)...

    or wait until tomorrow... you have your own bank account and an insurance company sending you a check- surely you must be responsible enough to hold onto a check for 10 hours or so?

    Not a very smart move. Wait till your bank is open in the morning and deposit it.

    You can deposit your check at any ATM, but if it is not your bank's ATM, there is a sizable service charge.
