Situation is divorce, man wants custody but never adopted the child.

I know a man who met a woman while she was pregnant with another mans baby.

The man knew she was pregnant and still they became a couple, she had the baby boy, they moved in together. 2yrs later they had a daughter, 1 yr later they got married, another 2 yrs go by and they had twins.

They have been together all this boys life. He only knew this man as his dad. His biological dad has no custody over him, didn't met him until about 3 or 4. After that he hasnt really seen him.

Everyone knows the man as the boys dad, he claims him as his son.

Things have drawn out to an end and the couple are getting a divorce. The man knows he can get custody of the girls but is unsure of what will happen to "his son".

The mother is not really fit. She doesnt keep the home clean, doesnt enforce bathing, teeth brushing, hair care, clean clothes, sheets on the bed. She pretty much lets the kids play in dirt and wear the dirty, stained clothes all day, put on pjs they have worn for a week ( if they werent in school, they would wear the same pjs all day and night) and let them sleep on sheetless beds.

Is there a chance he could get custody of the boy? atleast joint custody?

I've never heard it called any thing else but "i or they live in the projects"

I am thinking of getting a perm,

my hair is pretty striaght, when i wash it my hair looks a bit wavy ( until it drys then i brush and its straight) Its thick, Ive only dyed it one time just like a shade darker then what it is and that was like 3 yrs ago and now its back to its old color.

If i curl my hair it will only last maybe a few hours but im not a hair pro at all.

I know a family with 4 kids.

They keep their home a mess

( clothes all over the place- really over flowing dirty clothes from laundry room to all the rest of the house, dirty floors - trash, dirty kitchen..usually using paper plates cuz they are lazy, not cleaning the bathtub or toilet- lived in the home about a yr now, barley wash the girls hair, no sheets on any of the beds only comforters.)

father smokes weed around and in front of the kids.

kids stay out all night ( ages range from 8-3) there have been times when the parents wouldn't know where some of the kids where for like 2 hrs and don't bother to really look for them just say o they probably at someones house.

kids always wearing clothes that are too small or too big. underwear are stained up, like been washed but are stained. wearing clothes that are washed but stained. wearing short sleeves in winter ( did have a coat on )

hair rarely brushed.

no one in the home brushes their teeth

kids waking up to see another women in bed with the dad, dunno if naked or ne thing like that.

parents cursing at the kids and each other, screaming all the time. talking trash about one another around the kids.

is this considered neglect? like enough for child services to intervene ?
