...or at least it might've well have done!

This is Stevie's foot, or rather what is left of Stevie's foot.
Came in yesterday with sweat running down his legs after gallopping round like a maniac.
He's pulled a shoe off (if any of you are wondering, it is a front foot!) - he's due to have egg bars put on next week to support his many injuries (detailed below )Is there anything the farrier can do? Stevie's feet are rubbish
Stevie's injury list so far:
Damage to the area where the check ligament joins the flexor tendon - damage to the check ligament and thickening of the tendon aswell. - near fore (the foot pictured lol)
Bone growth on the side of his pedal bone where the collateral ligament joins it. (off fore)
Bone spur on navicular bone (off fore)
As yet unconfirmed issues in the coffin joint - we know they are there but not entirely sure what they are (off fore)
Early stages of sidebone in the outside lateral cartilage (off fore).
Any advice, similar stories etc etc etc greatly appreciated. What can the farrier do with that foot??!

The link says "Access denied".... whatever that means, its not working... sorry.
Ouch.... poor guy. Sounds like he has been through a lot....
Edit-----
Oh okay it works now. Well firstly, its not near as bad as my mind expected it to be.... I was imagining something majorly missing!
He still looks bad though, and its probably very painful.
Do you have an easyboot that yo could put on him while you wait for the farrier? It would help alleviate the problems.
As for similar stories.... http://www.fuglyblog.com/2009/drawing-the-line/
Now THAT was awful.... maybe you could do some similar things as to what was done in the pictures, as far as taking care of the hoof.
Although I don't think your horse needs put to sleep, like that horse did.
Good luck, I hope he recovers well !

I would ask the farrier to take all the shoes off, and keep trimming his feet every six weeks for the next six months, which will allow for the old nail holes to grow out and harden and form some new hooves to start again with new shoes, but I have to say it dose not look good, at the end of the day it might be best for the horse to be put down---but best of luck with him--yours--

Its amazing what a good farrier can do with feet. Egg bars will be great for him. Is he a young horse or an old one, the young ones seam to heal better. All the best with him. My horse has badly cracked front feet he honestly was beginning to look like a camel when i got him. Shoes were put on and he has just had his 2nd fit. His hooves are improving it's amazing.

It sounds like if the farrier can do anything it won't be much due to his many injuries.
With a horse unlike Stevie (who hasn't been through much) usually you get a diaper and duck tape it to the hoof if the shoe has fallen. Then the next day or so the farrier would come to put a new shoe on.

He looks like he needs an easy boot right now with a pillow for a sole :(
