need help with bicycle wheel size.?

a few weeks ago, I took a turn too sharply and bent my front wheel pretty badly. I tried to straighten it out with a spoke wrench but I think it is bent beyond repair. So, I figured I would just buy a new wheel. On the tire, it says 26" X 2.1 but when I look online I can only seem to find 26" X 1.75 size wheels. I assume this last number is the width, My question is: Is it possible to put a 26" X 1.75 on my bike or not? Is the 2.1 an unusual width?

Yes you can use the 26 x1.75 and the 2.1 tire is not an unusual size. This is the size used on nearly all adult-sized mountain bikes and cruisers.

    If your tire size is expressed as "26 x 1.25" or "26 x 1.50" or "26 x 1.75" or "26 x 1.95" or "26 x 2.1" or "26 x 2.125" or "26 x " any other decimal number, 559 mm is the size you need.

Pretty much any 559 mm tire will work on any 559 mm or ( 26") rim, but it is best to avoid using very narrow tires on very wide rims or vice versa.

Are you sure that your wheel is 28"? Today, that is a very rare size. Most road bikes use 700c wheels which are a very different size. Look at the size stamped on the rubber sidewall of your tires, that is the size of your wheel, and you can look up the average circumference of that size tire, or measure it yourself

you should still be able to put it on.

ive never had a problem with the width of tires and rims.

    go for it!
