According to verse 13 He made the first cov obsolete. Now whatis becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.

The New covenant is characterized by grace and mercy, unlike the old covenant

A better Covenant and a more excellent ministry.

Heb 8:6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.

If your god was all knowing, all good, and all powerful, he would never have created a "covenant" that had any errors whatsoever.

    Consider Matthew 5:17-20

17 "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 19Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.

As jesus himself states in the above passages--ALL OF GOD"S LAWS must be obeyed until heaven and earth are no more. He says nothing about abolishing them.

the first covenant made man prideful in himself, it allowed legalism, and the true motive of their hearts were lost to the Lord. God wanted a closer relationship with mankind. and its been his intention all along to restore that.

therefore, through Jesus, the law was fulfilled, for the purpose of the law was to bring in man's redeemer. With that accomplished, man kind is now made righteous enough through Jesus for all those who believe, and God's spirit can now dwell with in us, instead of the temple.

and now, its the motive of your heart that the laws are filled. we dont lie, kill, steal, covet....and the rest out of love rather then law. that is what it means to write the law on their hearts.

The older covenant, incomplete and imperfect, was only intended to be temporary.

Because Jesus came to give us back that which was stolen by the enemy through Adam's sin and disobedience. This is why Jesus is often referred to as the second Adam.
