Christians you may have a problem with your Bible....?

Well, this is a question for all the Christians out there. Today I read an article that says the bible was translated incorrectly from Hebrew. The woman who made this discovery said that the correct translation of the Old Testament was that God did not create the Earth but merely "separated Heaven from Earth".

I am curious about your thoughts on this matter. Will you embrace this new translation, or since you have learned from the modern translation of the Bible differently, reject this.

Please read the article (it's short) before you answer this question.

Update:

Wow thank you igottawhopper.MASSIVE for you amazing insight and intelligence. Your answer in all capital letters really lets the world know how knowledgeable you are. :p

This was a question for Christians, and if you aren't Christian, don't answer it, duh.

(I was curious because I am Pagan, and wanted to see how Christians would take this sort of news. )

Prof Van Wolde, who once worked with the Italian academic and novelist Umberto Eco, said her new analysis showed that the beginning of the Bible was not the beginning of time, but the beginning of a narration. >>>

I can agree with this part, however to state that God did not create the Earth from there is a bit of a stretch..

Genesis just states that God created the heavens and the Earth, it doesn't allude that it happened on the first day..It states it happened in the beginning...

The circumstances you point out aren't "issues" nor inconsistencies with the Bible; those are experiences written from distinct aspects of view. Some writers had been influenced to disclose detailed matters that the others weren't. For this intent, the Gospels supplement each and every different. Remember: "All Scripture is given by way of thought of God and is beneficial for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for guideline in righteousness, that the person of God could also be ideal, entirely ready for all well works."

As a Christian I would not worry about the change. It still leaves God in charge of world creation etc. Don't you think?

As an atheist I still wouldn't worry about it too much. Nor even be able to use it as an argument one way or the other.

Now tell me, how can you seriously ask Christians to listen carefully to a freethinker link? Not too d***n likely I would say. LOL

    Bye
