Does Chiropractic Re-Alignment Work?
I have s shaped scoliosis, and am possibly going for chiropractic therapy that is "proven" to re-align spines, instead of getting surgery to insert a rod and several bolts/screws into my spinal cord. They say that their average change of degrees is 17. The girls that go there, say that it doesn't hurt, but its not confterable. They put you on special chairs, and do special things to you to reduce the curve.
Please tell me if this chiropractic work is true or false?

Do try it - it can work. I have a spinal fusion (rods/screws) because of scoliosis. I never went to a chiropractor. Now my son is 8. I noticed that he had one shoulder blade that was higher than the other, and his hips weren't aligned. I took him to the chiropractor, and afterward, his hips were even. I highly recommend trying it. Surgery isn't fun. Going to the chiropractor is something that you feel much better when you are done. It doesn't hurt, and you definitely feel better afterward.
Good luck!

False
Chiropractic cannot make a difference in scoliosis
Surgery is usually reserved for those with more severe curvatures, 40-50 degrees. Physical therapy, and braces are used in lesser curvatures like yours.
There is nothing that a chiropractor can do, and no evidence that anything they do works for scoliosis. The "theory" behind chiropractic...adjusting "subluxations" to restore the flow of "innate energy"...would not even be plausible to explain what chiropractic might do in this case. It is painful, expensive, and in the end you will not be any different.

Chiropractors are frauds. Their treatments are at best a placebo and as such cannot make structural changes to your spine.

Much of chiropractors business involves convincing people they can help, this is how they make their money.
It is definitely not 'proven' or even theoretically possible.
