Why does anybody Bother?

The other one you are thinking of is flixter and yes i have joined it, plus myspace, plus my 360, plus twitter, but haven't joined face book and you are right I barely ever go their unless I get an email from someone wanting to follow me on twitter and emails about my knowledge on flixter, but funnily enough I can't even remember my passwords or my screen name, so you are not alone mate, I spend enough time just reading my funny emails (thanks guys for those) and answering questions, but yahoo answers has stopped sending contacts questions and you have to find them on the home page and answer them that way and its using up too many megabytes each day and I am getting dangerously close to going over, and I can't afford that so am just answering the ones I know, have a good one mate and say gidday to your partner (won't mention your names on here) :)

Facebook and twitter are overated.

i still have an account on facebook. Go in there occasionally. But not actually using it anymore, even though my profile is there.

I think its not necessairy facebook that has changed , just my attitude towards it.

I just find it uninteresting and seem to think whats the purpose of it?

I dont know i might just get rid of facebook altogethor. I got no interest in what my old high school buddied are doing simply because im in a different phase or part of my life that does nto involve them.

Maybe keeping a facebook profile simple rather than complicating it with added friends u dont need to dont see anymore is the answer. just family and close friends. Otherwise u get bombarded with more friend requests, invitations and spam u just dont want or need to look at.

Its good to catch up with high school buddies , dont get me wrong. But i just cant seem to get involved in it for a prolonged period a have constant contact.. This is the way it is in this era. Its the new way to communicate. Where people get sucked in is where they notify people what they are doing every second of the day.

Things u dont need to know , like people putting there status as........sitting on the toilet right now.....or...........just finished doing the dishes now im tired. Those status updates are just rubbish and get annoying . People dont need to know what other people are doing every second of the day.

I agree....nowadays, people subsitute technology for face-to-face conversations. We think we're more "in touch" but really, it's a more distant existence. People break up via text messages...I've seen kids sitting on the same front porch, texting each other and others, not saying a word to each other. Maybe they think it's easier than actual communication? Something is very wrong with that picture. Why the hell am I on here? Not sure either! ha ha! Maybe I'm too old too. ;)

I say many people must find them useful or at least entertaining in some way. They serve a purpose as tools of information and communication to those inclined to use them. I continue to use myspace as a way of finding people I've met or heard of.

i feel where you are coming from :: i've never had a myspace: facebook or ever been on the twitter site :: i too prefer a more simpler life =]

i have myspace and facebook for two reasons :

a) it helps me keep in touch with friends that i don't talk to alot, but still want to talk to every once in a while, and if i lose my contacts on my phone or something, it helps me get a hold of the people from other schools, or states taht i talk to but don't have their number written down

b) its just another more broad form of talking to people.

I cannot stand facebook or myspace. I have both but I rarely use them. I do not even hve a Twitter

to keep in touch plus you don't want to seem like you have no technology. I barely use twitter and my space. i have every thing imaginable .
