Please explain why a country would both import & export children?

Many things in the adoption world do not make any sense. This is one of them. Thank you.

The United States does export as well as import adoptable children. We export because some children are "better" than others. That's why the youngest, whitest, healthiest ones cost the most--I mean, have the highest legal fees--despite the fact that it can't possibly cost more to process their adoptions or pay their mothers' expenses.

The kids the US sends to other countries are the ones our PAPs don't want. It's not easy to find stats about this because we know we ought to be ashamed about it.

Humm, an opinion of one person. I of course don't agree with it at all, though I have always been a bit suspect over the ethical record of mainland Europe and Britain, however a lot of Europe does have a plan. We are of course always trying to make the best of any situation, so while outspoken critics of the US administration, our government still has significant shares in the effort to keep the peace in Afghanistan and training Iraqi police. Funny if Bush really thinks "everything" is at stake in Iraq- if he did think that way why didn't he at the start do everything to make the road gold-paved for the Iraqis, make a move not only to train police, but doctors, teachers, engineers, plummers and so on. I'm sure with 2 billion a week they could do a lot instead of just patrolling baghdad. Appeasment has never been a policy, however it is important to separate the political aspect of an extremist group- the methods which they use might be horrible and illegal, but they wouldn't exist if they didn't have a wide support base. It would be foolish to ignore the politics and just "kill insurgents". But I guess the US is doing just that.

In Canada, from 1960ish-very recently, many Aboriginal children were adopted internationally during the 60's scoop. Overseas, many potential adoptive parents thought they were doing the Christian thing and adopting an "orphan" or a child without a home. They knew nothing about the attempted genocide of an entire First People's of Canada. They thought that the chlldren were exotic and so they were exported to other countries.

Meanwhile, many children, white children, were adopted into Canada at the same time. Also, increased immigration of European families and children occured furing this time.

Another example is in a third world country. They export children (babies) as a commodity. They import actual children to do the sweatshop work.

Those are the only examples I can think of at this hour.

Australia used to have this "wonderful" thing called the child migrant scheme where unaccompanied children were shipped in from the UK and places like Malta, dumped in childrens homes here, usually run by groups like the so called Christian Brothers and subjected to horrendous abuse. The reason these kids were snatched from their own countries was to increase Australia's white population, literally to create breeders for white Australia, and yes, the white Australia policy was VERY real. My step father arrived in Australia at the age of 10 under the child migrant scheme along with his twin brother. They were incarcerated at Clontarf until they were 16, where they were raped, beaten and starved. At 16 they were sent to work without pay at a farm until they both ran away when they were 17. Dads brother committed suicide as a result of the abuse he suffered. They import children, and export em for that matter, to simply make up the numbers.

In South Texas, Methodist Mission Home and The Texas Cradle Society have shipped HWI's to wealthy families in Mexico for decades. During the BSE, they estimated that approximately 50% went south of the border. It continues today. A friend of mine's daughter in law is an adoption social worker, and she places several a year there. The elite in any country will always have what they desire. Years ago the demand was for blue eyed blond haired girls, but they are more open now, I believe. They accept babies of Mexican origins now, too.

There is only one reason that this happens, in the US, in Italy, France, Australia and everywhere....$$$$$ TALKS.
