So, R&S community, do you believe in life in outer space?

Just curious. What with all the debating that goes on here between the atheists and the theists, what's the general stand on aliens? In your answer please state whether you're an atheist or a theist? (: Thanks.

I think that from a statistical point of view, it is extremely likely that there is some kind of life somewhere out there other than our own.

However, given that the universe is a big place, and only a few of those stars are viable places for life, we may not see it for a LONG time, if ever.

And considering that for billions of years, only bacteria lived on Earth, it may well be pretty boring.

    EDIT: Forgot to mention- atheist.

Statistically, extraterrestrial life has a VERY high chance of existing. Consider that when you look up into the sky, for every centimeter squared of area there are approximately billions, or even trillions of stars, each with their own planets. It is highly probable life exists out there. It's just a question of how will we get there?

I'm not sure what I am...more like agnostic--if you can prove the existence of a supreme deity, then I'll believe you, but until then, I don't believe there is a god. I think it's possible that there is life out there, we can't be the only ones. The universe is infinite, there is no way for us to know, but it would be conceited to think that we are the only forms of intelligent life in the vast universe.

i've got self assurance existence is plausible in different planets or photograph voltaic structures with the aid of fact i've got self assurance in and have self assurance God. God did not let us know approximately it, so why complication your innovations approximately such questions? We seem to think of alternative beings could be like us. How do we get that concept. If God could make us, He could make the different species He needed and located them someplace else. do all of us understand we are so particular? What supplies us the theory that we are able to't be the elite of all creation? the place does the Bible say this variety of element? What makes us so smug as to have self assurance we are the main effective of the high-quality?

I believe two things about alien life:

    1. It exists. The probabilities of it not doing so are simply too small.

    2. The chances of us ever finding it are equally small.

Of course, that is where God and all his spirit creatures live, also called heaven. I have no opinion one way or the other about life on other planets out there. So far, we just don't know. Obviously, I believe in God and His Word, the Bible.

I have no realistic expectation of life outside our planet. The odds of us existing are so extremely unlikely to be a statistical impossibility. Unless you consider God.
