if it's an open wound you need to separate your girls for a few days till it heals up. rinse the wound in warm water with a little salt then apply some neosporin to it. make sure you do this every day. and don't worry rats are super quick healers in 3-4 days she'll already have a scab 5-6 days she'll be healed.

IF it's just a scratch on her then just let her be.

when i got Sushi we housed him with a younger rat of our whom we've never seen a domant side show through. Sushi was fine for a couple of days then on the 4th day our other rat snapped and attacked him, Sushi had a 2 inch open gash on his belly it was horrible looking. but in a week he was healed.

rats rarely require stitchs for injuries, unless you can see their guts.. don't worry!

Rats tears and snot are reddish brown colored. It's called porphyrin. You can look it up if you don't believe me. They will groom it off themselves. You are most likely to see it when they just woke up, as they haven't had a chance to clean it off yet. Just like we have guck in our eyes when we sleep, so do they. Only if their is an excess of it should you be worried, as that would indicate a URI. From what you said, I think she's fine :)

  • They could be fighting or just got scratched while playing or grooming. You want to make sre the cut doesn't get infected. Wash it and disinfect it.

im not a rat expert but im VERY fimiliar with hamsters...

yeah they were just fighting nothing to worried about unless they r fighting every single day then i would separte them......

    good luck!!!

it could have benn fighting and if it did separate them for a little bit but if they fight every day separate them permanently.

now another reason could be that the other one was grooming the other one and scratched it on accident.
