Am i doing it right? WEIGHT LOSS. any points/tips you can help me with?
okay.. ill start it off with... im 16 years old (almost 17) weigh 73 kilo's and im 168cm tall.
ive been going to the gym 5 times a week. . . no im not trying to turn into a butch or whatever you want to call it.
im trying to lose weight. i try and do my curcuit training (i think thats what its called) 3 times a week and do classes 2c a week .
i also make sur i have two rest days (thursday and saturday) this is mostly because i work.
in my gym routine i do-
assisted chin ups (weight it put up to 13 (maybe 15)) i do 2 sets of 8.
i do 2 sets of 8 push ups (on my knees)
wall squats (3 sets of 15 with fitness ball) (it hurts my back? any pinters?)
i also do the medicine ball twist 3 sets of 15 (that just burns.. but its meant to.)
i go on the treadmill for 10 mins (excludes cool down) but i do 2 minutes at 6.0 and 1 minute 8.0 i was meant to be dong it at 7.5.. but sometimes i go 8 or 8.5 because i can feel it.)
i do seated row 3 sets of 15 at 2kg pull thats hard
i also do 3/15 of frog leg crunches and theyburn.
i also go on the bike for 10 minutes at 60-70 rpm and do levels 4-7 in sped intervals or whateevr
i use the cross trainer for my warm up for 5-15 minutes depenidng how much time i have.
then i stretch sometimes i will do step ups between my excercises while waiting for a machine
my work out takes m about an hour to an hour and 15 minutes.
now my diet.
i dont eat much junk. ive started on low fat foods
such as weight watchers chicken rissotto for lunch r dinner
or their other meals
i also have white rice/brown rice for lunch on other days
i used to eat alot but since the gym i have lost my appetite. so i have 2 snacks during the day as well as my 3 main means. my snack is ussually a no fat youghurt or fruit.
for breakfast i have started on opti fast milkshakes (which btw taste horrible) so i add 2 teaspoons of sustagen into it.
if i dont then i have uncle toby's fitnesse oats
for dinner i have what the rest of the family have which is just regular fod. like steak and chicken and stuff like that. there is always alot of vegetables.
ive also started on fat forte tables (take 2 tablets with meals 3 times a day)
now i dont exactly have a sweet tooth but i wouldnt mind knowing what i can have if i want something sweet
is chewing gum okay
i hate soft drink.. but i also hate water. so can i have cordial?
ive tried weight watchers cookies and cream icecream and it tasted like cardboard (not exagerating) so i dont like that...
i wouldnt mind knowing when i can have something sweet like a chocolate bar or a peice of cake is it once a week or never?
i can say no to things like mcdonalds and hj's and i work at a cafe which is surrounded by muffins and cakes. and i can say no to them too. , .

i drik anywhere between 750mls- 2.25 litres of water in a day
can i put on weight if i drink too much water?

also, my wieght isnt going down on the scales but i can clearly see im losing weight? whats the go with that?

All these things above are the right steps to losing weight and I'd like to say you seem quite disciplined for a 16 year old. How ever when your at the gym I'd recommend to really focus on cardio for losing weight. Hit the bike treadmill or elliptical. Its quite simply all about sweating the fat off. Each session try to go longer and with more resistance. Definitly sauna it after cardio for amplified results
Everything else at the gym will not get your heart going enough for you to lose the pounds it just builds muscle under the fat As far as dieting goes sugar is the absolute worst thing for you , everything else your doing is fine.

avoid foods with too much sugar in it. this includes cookies, ice cream and desserts in general. reduce the amount of food eaten per meal. try drinking water before eating to make you get the feeling of being full and savor the food that you eat. running or any other form of cardio is sure to cause weight loss.
