first date!! what should i do??

i'm a bit confused really! 

i've never gone on a date before, so i need a few pointers 
i'm going out with this guy, and i don't know what to do.
first of all what should i wear. i don't want to look like a prude, but i've never liked looking like a skank! so do guys think that it's bad for a chick to wear to slutty of a outfit on your first date, or do they appreciate it???
i've never really had a problem with not talking, but i do tend to hav a problem with not putting people down. i think of it as teasing, but 1 guy i know gets really offended by what i say to him sometimes. so i'm wondering what i should do about that
and should i snog/make out with a guy on my first date???

p.s. i know it's not a good thing to check out guys on a first date, but i it ok to check out a girl???

Beth, for the first date, I'd play it cautiously.  

1.  Avoid extremes in dress on the first date, and afterwards.  Dressing slutty is bad karma.  Seriously.

2.  Guys don't expect girls to have a sense of humor; and teasing humor might not be understood or appreciated.  In other words, it might backfire.  

3.  Stop at kissing.

Good luck, have a good time.  And look at the first date as a starting of the process, and even the possible start of a relationship

Not always, lol it is referred to as a date, I feel considering that they set a date in combination on which they're gonna pass out. I feel distinct men and women do distinct matters on their dates.

dress good but still have your clothes imitate yourself

just stay relaxed and be cool/ yourself

also dressing like some skank wouldn't be good (unless you normally are one-- which i do hope not and doubt) probally would scare me off
