Are shows like iCarly, True Jackson, Drake and Josh etc. filmed in front of a real live studio audience?
I notice the "audience" on these shows always sounds the same when they laugh or go "oooooh" or whatever. On older shows like The Nanny, Everybody Loves Raymond, Home Improvement etc. the audience laughs differently and at some parts they laugh so much people can't even say their lines. But on those Nickelodeon sitcoms the audience abruptly stops and all of it sounds the same.

No, i don't think they have an actual audience for these shows. It's called 'canned laughter' and it has been used more and more frequently on kids TV over the years. It gets on my nerves sometimes when they literally play the laughter after every line that's said. But i think they use it because they know that a real audience won't laugh at everything, so by using canned laughter it will maintain the kids attention when watching. : )

The show usually announces if they have a studio audience. Im guessing the shows put the laughing in so some people know where the pun is.

I guess it's better than letting her watch adult swim or CSI, or some of the crap that's on at night, but don't YOU let her, if you don't like them. (I'm sick of them, myself!!!) Hannah Montana was supposed to be a good for kids her age. But I'm not sure she still is. Those shows are made for "Tweenagers" preteens. I think you're being appropriately worried. Too many kids are growing up Waaaaaaaaaaaaay too fast partly because of the images they associate with on television and in the movies. It's part of why so many twelve year olds are having babies, and wanting to keep them. You need to talk to your ex about this, and possibly to the people who adjudicate your divorce and custody situation. There's a very good chance that she's just telling you this so that YOU will let her watch these shows. Kids will tell you anything to get what they want.

they arnt ...actually almost none are ...the ones like ICarly are artificial and they mess up almost every 30 seconds because they only have 5 days to rehearse before filming also the old ones are filmed in front of and audience but it is just like seeing movies being made or going to an orchestra rehearsal ,their always stopping
they put in the laughs when they do laugh or go ooh
but they still all mess up

Most shows today do not have a live audience. iCarly, Drake and Josh, and shows like that don't have one, but True Jackson VP does. The show wil normaly announce it before it starts.
