  • Driving on a bad ignition coil?

Last night at a friend's house when I started my car the check engine light came on and it started to misfire and shake pretty bad when I was in drive. I drove to Autozone (1 mile) and they read the code and it said I had a bad ignition coil. So I bought the part I needed and drove home about 30 miles (mostly on the freeway). I had it replaced today (0.5 miles away) and the mechanic said I was good to go. I didn't ask him about the catalytic converter, though, which can be damaged from misfires. The check engine light is now off, but I'm wondering if I damaged the catalytic converter at all. Would that be something that could creep back up on me later?

More info: my car is a 2000 Mitsubishi Galant 4 cylinder. And the check engine light was never flashing, it was just solid. I drove about 30 miles in total.

  • How hard is mechanical engineering?

I'm looking to enter mechanical engineering at Arizona State (I may pursue biomedical for grad school). I'm pretty good at math and I like it, I'm taking calc BC as a HS senior and got a 5 on the AB exam last year. My main concern is chemistry and physics, as I'm not really that into chemistry and I've never taken physics. How hard is mechanical for someone like me? Experienced students' answers are preferred lol

  • Walking Dead scenario - if someone dies by a gunshot wound to the head, do they become a walker?

So walkers are killed by a blow to the head. What if a live person (already carrying the virus of course) is shot in the head and dies? Do they turn and become a walker who then has to get shot in the head AGAIN to die? Or are they just dead for good?

  • World's Worst Case of White Coat Anxiety?

I think I have the worst case of white coat anxiety (getting nervous at the doctor's office) ever. I went to get a free physical with my school and they couldn't clear me because my heart rate and blood pressure were too high (HR: 140, BP: 160-170/80-100). My heart rate's not high normally, and I've taken my BP at home a few times and it's okay. It's just that being around doctors and having a physical done makes me terribly nervous and edgy. Everything else was normal by the way, and the EKG they did was fine but too fast.

My family doctor will probably understand; I'm hoping he'll be able to clear me on the grounds of having normal readings at home and everything else being normal at the physical.

So I guess what I'm asking is how can I deal with this anxiety (I've been told to just relax, but I can never seem to do that), and how can I improve my readings at the doctor?

  • Do I have pectus excavatum/flared ribs?

I notice that my chest caves in and my ribs stick out.

    Here's a picture: http://www.flickr.com/photos/49900518@N05/45879139...

How bad is my pectus excavatum? Could it easily be fixed with exercise, because I really don't want to have surgery. My doctor has never noticed anything nor said anything about this. I'm very self-conscious of it, I'm 14 (kids in my Phys. Ed. class call me fish-belly). I seem to be the only one with this kind of chest/ribs appearance. I know I shouldn't think much of the ridiculing but I wish I could just have a flat, normal chest. And again, I hear the surgery's painful, I don't want to do it. I'm also worried, will it worsen throughout puberty?

  • How to get a girl to like me?

I like this girl, but it's pretty apparent she doesn't like me. Every time I talk to her I always sound like a dork, and she has a witty comeback. I guess you could say I'm a likable person, I play guitar, sports, good grades. What is missing to get her to fall for me?

  • My YouTube account was suspended. Do I have a claim here?

I received an email from YouTube that said my account was suspended because of a Mario Paint Composer video that was claimed by Cass Country Music. It was simply a rendition of "Hotel California" which wasn't terribly accurate, and wasn't even full length. What's the deal here?!

  • Every time I bump my head I freak out, thinking that I'll suddenly hemorrhage or something?

Damn you Discovery Health channel and your profound medical knowledge that you distribute to the entire world! I see shows where people barely bump their head, hemorrhage, and then die. This knowledge just really annoys me, and makes me afraid of any sudden and jarring movements to my head. I'm afraid to headbang, and I'm also afraid that if I'm ever in a car accident, I'll freak out and think that I have head trauma or something. Starting to sound like a hypochondriac, right? Sometimes, ignorance is truly bliss. Anyone else have this problem?

  • Are shows like iCarly, True Jackson, Drake and Josh etc. filmed in front of a real live studio audience?

I notice the "audience" on these shows always sounds the same when they laugh or go "oooooh" or whatever. On older shows like The Nanny, Everybody Loves Raymond, Home Improvement etc. the audience laughs differently and at some parts they laugh so much people can't even say their lines. But on those Nickelodeon sitcoms the audience abruptly stops and all of it sounds the same.

  • Who thinks "Glenn Martin, DDS" won't last more than 1 season?

Personally, I think it looks very stupid, and won't last more than a season or even less.

  • Ibanez RG350DX not in tune? Strings not in tune with themselves?

This may sound weird, but I recently bought an Ibanez RG350DX, and the low E string doesn't seem to be in tune with itself. Yes, it sounds awkward, but it seems true. Here's the situation: I tune the low E open string to a piano, right? I get the pitch just right. So I play say, the 5th fret (an A) and I play an A on the piano. The pitch of the open string is perfect, but the A on the string is sharp. And even the octave on the same string doesn't seem to be in tune, it's about a quarter step or so sharp. I've never heard of strings being out of tune with themselves, and this is a very strange, frustrating phenomenon.

  • How do the leaderboards for Guitar Hero 3 display the high score of the song Mississippi Queen as 300K?

I FC'd (100%) the song and only got about 119K. How do the people on the leaderboards get 300K? It's not the star power path, I know that. Cheats?
