Do I have pectus excavatum/flared ribs?

Question

I notice that my chest caves in and my ribs stick out.

How bad is my pectus excavatum? Could it easily be fixed with exercise, because I really don't want to have surgery. My doctor has never noticed anything nor said anything about this. I'm very self-conscious of it, I'm 14 (kids in my Phys. Ed. class call me fish-belly). I seem to be the only one with this kind of chest/ribs appearance. I know I shouldn't think much of the ridiculing but I wish I could just have a flat, normal chest. And again, I hear the surgery's painful, I don't want to do it. I'm also worried, will it worsen throughout puberty?

you have mild pectus excavatum mines a Little deeper then yours im 16 .  there is no exercise that will fix it. yes puberty can worsen or make it get better.  as for kids making fun of you i found that if you can make fun of it your self or pretend that it doesn't bother you most people will stop bugging you about it.

ok dude...your 14....your going to look like a kid for a while..and thats all this might be....but the dip you have at your sternum is not a good thing..if you were to get into an accident, it could be bad..but My brother looked exactly like you when he was 10-16 now at 19 he looks normal.....I cant tell you honestly you will fill out or look normal..im not a Doctor..if you believe in God..and your worried about this I would say Pray He fixes it.

Go see an orthopedic surgeon girl...I wish you luck....btw girls look hot when their ribs poke out...
