Has anyone ever had to file a complaint at work concerning FLSA overtime laws?

I have recently spoken with someone from the US Labor office governing overtime/wage laws, and wondered how the process works as far as the subsequent investigation? I filed a complaint, and am currently awaiting word from their office, or someone to show up at my office to investigate. Does anyone have any history with this process, and is able to tell me what to expect?

first they must determine if this is even under their jurisdiction.

is your employer covered by FLSA, many are not.

if not this will move to your states DoL for investigation and enforcement.

why didn't you file with the state first?

    it is almost always quicker...........

most likely they will request records from the employer before anyone actually shows up at your work site. (this of course depends on what you are claiming, employers past history, etcetera)
