Classic Country: Who was Buck Owen's singing partner/back up singer that helped to put Buck in the spotlight?

In my opinion that would have to the one and only Don Rich.

Added:: Besides being Buck's singing partner/back up singer, Don was also one of the best country fiddle players of all time and a master of the Telecaster.

Don Rich and Buck sang and played a little with Tommy Collins. Don Rich was an excellent guitar and fiddle player.

"Dangerous" Don Rich, one of the finest harmony/tenor singers in country music and a fabulous multi-instrumentalist.

Buck and Don were so close that after Don's death in a motorcycle accident in 1974 Buck said he felt like he'd lost his brother. He was never the same.

....Don Rich was his back back up singer.After Don died Doyle Holley sang some back up.When Susan Raye became female singer for the Buck Owen Show she became his back up singer.

But it is Don Rich who backed Buck up during the early years.

***You should consider Bucks first wife, Bonnie Campbell, his backup singer as instumental in his career. After her divorce from Buck, she went on to help Merle Haggard.
