I would like to know who has given their seven month old Gerber Puffs?
I have talked to a couple of my mom friends who have told me they gave their babies Gerber Puffs and Cheerios at around seven months of age. I have just started my seven month old on finger foods last week he just turned seven months on sunday. He has had soft cooked veggies and little pieces of bread. I went to the store to buy the puffs and cheerios but when I read the container it said not to give it to them until after twelve months of age. I hesitated and didn't purchase them, I wanted to get more opinions first even though I was told they are perfectly fine and dissolve in their mouths.

Gerber Puffs are one of the first finger foods my daughter fed herself. And she was around 6 1/2-7 months old. They dissolve virtually as soon as baby put them in his mouth, they really are just practice foods for him starting to try to feed himself. Like someone else said, most 12 month olds can eat the same thing as everyone else, maybe just cut up smaller.

I think that at the age of 7 months you can give them Gerber Puffs. I asked our daughter pediatrician at the 6 month checkup which was like 2 weeks ago when we could start giving her that kind of stuff and she said around 7-8 months would be perfect. I think it would be fine to try.

Gerber has to put a disclaimer to cover their own butts from a lawsuit. Most 12 month olds can eat the same thing their parents eat. A baby can most certainly eat an easy to dissolve puff long before 12 months.

Gerber puffs are way less of a chocking hazard then bread and veggies in my opinion. They literally dissolve right in your mouth. I should know, the sweet corn ones were my favorite to share with my daughter lol. Just go out and buy one and eat a few for yourself and you'll see how easy they are to eat.

We've been feeding our 8 mos old the Gerber Puffs for occassional snacks since he was about 7 mos old. He does great with them. However, they do have sugar in them, so I wouldn't feed him alot of them.
Mum Mum Crackers (rice crackers for babys) at Walmart are also another good snack that dissolve fast and work well for him.
Hope this helps.

I started my daughter on them around 6 1/2 - 7 months, they dissolve really quickly, there is no reason to wait till 12 months

attempt asking your Dr. I gave my 7.5 month previous rice and beans whilst we've been out at a eating place, and he started refusing toddler food. He nonetheless took his milk, so I saved attempting. I frequently provide him even if we've, toddler type, per what it incredibly is. We had poultry a week in the past, and that i chewed it up somewhat first in the previous giving it to him (extraordinary i be attentive to, I completely felt like a regurgitating momma wolf), he enjoyed it! He handles crackers properly sometimes, yet sometimes he gets the gagging component and throws up somewhat. His Dr. suggested he's basically getting a discerning palate, and its popular for him to start refusing pureed, or bland food. He advised me crackers are wonderful, and he will throw up now and returned until he gets to be "a expert" at ingesting. i attempted Graduates, and its nonetheless a splash too massive for my toddler, I finally end up having to shrink or mash it basically like I do with even if we've. basically attempt putting some tiny banana slices on his tray, and enable him play in it. If he enjoys it, then attempt some thing else. My son likes ABC soup, pasta, rice, beans, bread (watered all the way down to make it variety of doughy), meat that has the two been chewed somewhat, or mashed basically a splash with somewhat water, gentle culmination, etc. you could extraordinarily lots provide him something (different than of course, dairy, eggs, honey, etc), as long as its sufficiently small and moist adequate for him to swallow even if if he would not chew it.
