2.4 L GM dual overhead cam PROBLEMS?

i know these motors have problems...

just picked up a car....the car runs/drives....but sounds like it restricted, the car goes about a top of 15 mph and has no power....the car doesn't leak any oil, or anything for matter of fact..

i cut the exhuast and checked that catalytic converter to make sure it wasn't plugged.... but that wasn't the problem...

i pulled the top cover off and checked the spark plugs, then did a compression test on each cylinder... each cylinder has 200 on them.... so that ain't the problem.....

could it be as simple as Mass Air Flow Sensor, or O2 sensor, bad gas, fuel filter, weak fuel pump..??? or is it that the time chain jumped and the car is out of time???

Update:

no corrosion on the coil pack.. the boots are good, i'm leaning more toward the timing chain now.....

after re-welding the pipe together the catalytic converter did get very hot.... local mechanic thought it jumped a cog so that it was running rich and letting alot of gas being not burnt
