How did WWII pull us out of the Great Depression?

I have my own theories of course, but I want to know some truths too!

First, government spending was already happening, so that wasn't quite it. Second, more government spending happened too. So, what then was the reason that the U.S. was able to go from bust to superpower?

Unity in action, something we are lacking today. The rest of the world, excluding Axis powers Germany, Italy and Japan needed all forms of manufactured goods the United States could produce. For example, the Soviet Union concentrated all of their industrial efforts in building tanks. We provided them (through the Lend/Lease Act) all types of goods from military transport vehicles to MRE's (meals ready to eat). Early in the German-Russo war we provided the Soviets Sherman tanks which the Soviet troops called a 'coffin for five brothers'. This put Americans back to work and jump started the dollar.

This doesn't constitute a scratch in the surface but hopefully it will get you started.

It didn't, the Great Depression had ended, the Second World War (more than) paid for the remedies put in place. It accelerated the rate of fall in unemployment and stimulated growth in industry (except for the 1937 recession).
