It doesn't just all happen by Magic you know ... go to the Sony website and see if there are Windows7 Drivers for your laptop.

When you get into a car it doesn't automatically just drive off on it's own to where you want to go ... you have to interact with it and at least steer it in the right direction .... that's what "divers" do for your hardware ... they tell the OS what's supposed to happen when you access a particular device .... it sounds like Win7 didn't automatically recognise your devices

As a poster above mentioned...you just have some incompatible drivers that aren't fully functional (yet) in Windows 7.

I have a similar issue on my Dell Vostro - the mute button on my front media buttons panel does not work. In addition, my audio drivers had to be rolled-back since the current ones for XP/Vista caused some heavy stuttering in Windows 7.

Check Sony if any other drivers happen to work for you, and if those don't work...you'll just have to wait until updates get issued. Technically Windows 7 hasn't been released, so there a lot of specific issues that are bound to arise.

Windows 7 is still in it's infant stage and it will take some time to work all the quirks out
