Help recovering video.?

I recorded some footage on a Hitachi camcorder and believe I forgot to finalize the disc before loading into my DVD player to watch. Now I can't even access the disc - the following error message comes up:

This disc cannot be used. Please replace disc.

I fear I have lost the footage forever - any advice as to how I can recover?

    The only tool I know of for non-finalized discs is ISOBuster. I have neer used it - only know that others have been successful. It is not free - but I think they have a free utility that can tell you if the video is there and recoverable.

    take the disc, place it back into the camera and finalize it. It'll work afterwords.
