Riding horse? Hack? (inc pics)?
I was planning to put my TB in the hack class at a local show, but someone said to me I should put him in Riding Horse. I thought he was too fine for this - what do you think? He is 15hh and full TB.

I would say a hack. Riding horse needs to be a lot more substantial (according to the judges, but hey, many different sorts and heights make good hacks!) and carry more weight. A hack is elegant and lighter weight - like yours.
And who is to tell you what to do? If you want to enter him into either, it is entirely up to you. Good luck.

if i am right in what i could find, in a hack class the horse has to have grace, elegance and perfect manners. no higher than 15.3hh for large hacks.
a riding horse has to have quality, substance and plenty of bone under the knee to correspond with it's height.should be correct, not weedy or short in the limb. should be straight, long and flowing.riding horse has no upper limit.
so i guess you should be ok with the riding horse. (he looks more than 15hh)
edit... oh no i wasn't questioning his height. photo's are misleading.

Personaly i saw him and thought small hunter.
Now photo's can be misleading about the amount of bone a horse has but I don't think he is a hack.
This is Pashcal high flyer, he is a very good example of a hack (he also does extremely well in ISRT classes)

As you can see he is much finer and daintier then your lad.
This is a very good example of a riding horse (the Philanderer, supreme at HOYS)

Yours seems to be more hunterish then either of them
