Hi Susan,
I'm sorry to say that this is not a very good diet. In fact, it doesn't look like the kind of food that somebody who is dieting would even eat (well, apart from the green tea).
I hope this is only what you've eaten so far today and not all you're planning on eating. There is not nearly enough food here to sustain a healthy eating plan.
Crackers are OK to eat occasionaly, but they are just flour, salt and butter for the most part. Green Tea is Ok to drink at any time of the day or night (depending on strenght), but there is no real nutritional value in it. Birds Eye fish fingers are not really that good for you as they have a layer of breadcrumbs on them and the fish inside is not the best quality fish you can eat.
Try something like this instead:
Breakfast @ around 8:00am: hot oats (unsweetened), weetabix, porridge, a hard boiled egg, some wholewheat toast or bread, fruit, low-fat yoghurt etc. Breakfast is a very important meal so you should eat enough of these types of foods to fill you, but not enough to stuff yourself and make you want to fall asleep.
Snack @ around 11:00am: A piece or fruit and a yoghurt or a pita with some salad and tuna mixed in. Use things like hot sauce or mustard for flavour instead of mayonaise and salad dressing. Avoid those pre-made bars and all that stuff as they are just gimmicks.
Lunch @ around 1:00pm: Two handfuls of any type of vegetables you like and a palm size amount of sone kind of lean meat. if you don't like meat, try eating some kidney beans or soy mince. If that seems to bland and you feel like splashing out, try a veggie burger as they are pretty healthy, but low in fat and salt.
Snack @ around 3:00pm: the same kind of stuff as you for your earlier snack.
Dinner @ 5 or 6pm: pretty much the same as what you had at lunch. Lots of vegetables and a little lean protein.
Snack @ 7 or 8pm: have a small snack comprised of fruit or yoghurt or try some pitas or wholewheat bread with some salad etc. keep the portions fairly small (like one sandwhich for example instead of two)
Then go to bed at around 10:00pm.
you also need to do 3 days of cardio/weights a week as watching what you eat is only part of the healthy equation. If you want to feel great and look great you have to look after your body with food and exercise. If you starve yourself your body will not appreciate that and so you will be tired all the time and generally get sicker as time goes on.
I have been using this diet/exercise plan as a new way of life and I have lost 12 pounds (almost 1 stone) in 3 months. I look and feel great and i'm never going back to unhealthy eating and drinking.
This may seem like a lot of food, but really you are only eating 6 small meals a day about every 2-3 hours. When combined with some exercise this eating style helps to increase your metabolism and burn away excess fat. The best thing is that because you are losing the weight in a healthy way you will keep it off (if you need to lose weight that is)
Well, that's how I do it and I've had great success. Do lots of research online and in books and ask your doctor for advice before you change your eating/exercise plan in any major way.
Good luck and stay focused,
Gerard
