I was sick for 10 days and stayed away from my 7 week old baby, now he doesnt seem to remember me at all.?

Maybe you can all play peek a boo, most children just love to play peek a boo, it usually gets them to laugh.

He most certainly does not hate you. Children this age do not have the ability to have such emotions or feelings. Are you feeling nervous, guilty, or sad because you were away? Are you feeling stressed from having been ill for so long? All of these are natural emotions you may be feeling at this time. If so, your son may just be sensing your anxiety. Take a deep breath, get him in your arms, and hug him and talk to him and just let him know you are his dad, and are going to take as good a care of him as his mom. One way to reestablish the bond between you is to let him lie on your chest, and have skin to skin contact with him. Another good way to bond is to feed him a bottle. As you approach him each time you are with him, talk to him in soothing tones and reassure him that you love him dearly. Eventually he will feel calmed by your presence once again. Good luck!

It is totally normal for a 7 week old baby to only want mom, even if you hadn't been away from him. He will eventually want to branch out and spend time with other people, you especially. Just give it time and don't force it.

Im sure he dosent hate you, at 7 weeks old he dosent know what hate is. Just spend as much time with him as possible, he will warm up to you.

Reintroduce yourself and spend as much time with him as you can until he accepts you as an important person in his life again.
