Short Break in the UK?
We're intending to go for a 3-day short break somewhere in the uk. We're looking for an area past nottingham but no further north than the lake district due to travel times. As we're going with my grandmother, ideally, we are not looking for a city break, so smaller villages, towns or even the more family-friendly cities such as cambridge are welcome. We hope to find somewhere that has easy access to places of interest or things to do to fill our time. Really, we are focusing our search on yorkshire, derbyshire, etc. If anyone has any ideas or personal experiences on places that they enjoyed visiting, all and any ideas will be welcomed. Thankyou.

Seconded. The views in the Lake District will be very soothing and I'm sure your grandmother will appreciate the quaint English tea rooms around Lake Windermere / Kendall. You can hire cottages (www.cottagesinthelakedistrict.com - although there are a few other sites via Google) to make it a bit more special too.

The Peak District National Park mostly in Derbyshire would be good. I think the nicest town to stay in there is Bakewell

in case you prefer buying, and attractions interior of attain, then you definitely should be in or close to a considerable city. London is the evident one (or possibly you're already there and don't prefer to have your smash there!). possibly Edinburgh. needless to say you do no longer prefer to be in a quiet rural spot. possibly someplace like Blackpool? The busiest beach hotel. in case you prefer someplace quiet to stay, then Cleveleys and Fleetwood are on the tram path, so which you do no longer could force, or St Anne's to the south of the city. quite some figuring out to purchase, theatres and different attractions.
