Can birth control cause thinning of blood?

Can taking birth control make your blood thin? I mean in the sense that if you get cut or scraped and your blood is thin. Could the pills cause this?

I've been on Ortho Tri-Cyclen for four years and it's been so good to me about everything. It helped the medical issues that were happening, which is why I'm taking it.

Doctor would be out of the question because I lost my health insurance a while back.

Update:

Well, I have that. (Planned Parenting) I get check ups and stuff on it, but you still have to pay a lab bill that I can't exactly afford at the moment. They will need to do blood work to see what the issue with my blood is.

The opposite is true. Birth control pills actually make you clot more, and that can be a bad thing if you clot inside a blood vessel. Smokers are at increased risk for this.

The problem with clotting too much (hypercoagulation) is that those blood clots can break off, go to your lungs and cause big problems, even death. That is why you need to be under the care of a physician while on BC pills.

If you can't afford a private doctor, try Planned Parenthood. They usually have nurse practitioners, but that's better than nothing.
