To anyone who says Megadeth, their last 2 albums before Endgame (The System Has Failed and United Abominations) were great speed-metal/thrash albums. Maybe they aren't Peace Sells or Rust in Peace but neither is Endgame. Personally I don't think Megadeth ever really went away.
Testament's Chuck Billy (vocals) had cancer and couldn't go on singing like he used to. So what does Testament do? Wait for Chuck to get better then re-record some of their classics with his new vocal style (First Strike Still Deadly) and then followed it up with the awesome The Formation of Damnation. Yes it was 7 years between those 2 albums, but what a comeback!

Asphyx - Death the Brutal Way. A great comeback. Enough to make me forget about the god awful Pestilence one.

Alice In Chains-
They really made my jaw drop
even after 14years in hiatus and losing their lead singer Layne Stanley
they made a record that stood out of the rest of the albums that were released this year,Black Gives Way To Blue is an instant classic.
And new singer William Duvall is doing an awesome job.
Hope they maintain their dominance.
