Rockford Fosgate P3 car stereo help?

I'm have a pair Rockford Fosgate Punch P312D4 subwoofers and a Rockford Fosgate Punch P6002 amp. Both of them are from 2004-2005, but I was told there isn't much of a difference between my version of the P3's and the current one, since the power output is the same. Please tell me if my system is too old. I mean I know that it works, but should I be upgrading due to newer or more efficient technology? Are my two components compatible? Will I get maximum performance with this amp? I have no experience with car stereo systems so please do not throw out any acronyms or vocabulary without defining them first. I have URL's of my components below.

Thanks

Newer doesnt mean better. The tecnology has been the same for 15 or more years. Fosgate used to make their amps in arizona and they were bad***. That 20 years ago. two of the old punch 150's bridged[one amp per speaker] would outperform that chinese stuff anyday.Keep what you got.

Ah Rockford, I remember while Rockford and Soundstream have been the only 2 call manufacturers obtainable nicely worth a sh*t. That being pronounced, they're nevertheless quite solid. in terms of a deck, i'm going to continuously be an alpine fan. specially because of the fact I want an audio administration know as adversarial to button. element is mate, woofers and acces. are all so inexpensive recently which you will desire to besides goto the shop and hear some diff manufacturers and in simple terms bypass with what you like!
