How does one make a torc?
Heyla,
I'm trying to make a torc (metal Celtic necklace-type-thing), and I was wondering whether anyone had any pertinent advice. I'm planning on twisting or braiding several strands of ten-guage wire together, but I have no idea how to make or where to find the heads for the ends. Thoughts?
Thanks,
-Leila :)

You might have better luck with Google if you try the alternate spelling: "torque".
I've seen them with plain round caps as well as very figural sculptures.
Sorry I can't help more.

I'm sure they used to cast the heads as molten iron, gold, brass, or what ever metal in little animal head molds designed for just that. I was looking at some left over armature wire I had brought from craft store and thought I twist that into Torc myself. They do seem a bit thinner that what I need though. So, I going to ask the craft people if they seel those any thicker.
As for the Animal head ends, I going to use a putty or something like that. As I don't have the gear to cast or even make molten metal.
