Question for midwives/Doctors regarding vomiting during labour...?

Can being sick during labour a sign of being fully dilated, being ready to push or of baby being back to back?

(If you answer please can you let me know if you are qualified or sources?) Thank you.

Anecdotal evidence seems to suggest that vomiting during labor usually occurs near the end of labor and is an indication that birth will happen soon. I threw up two hours before birth and that is relatively close to birth considering I was in labor for 24 hrs. But the evidence I have seen has always been anecdotal in midwifery books.

As for it indicating a back to back lay, I don't think vomiting has anything to do with the position of the baby.

    Good luck, happy birthing.

I'm not a 'qualified' person, but i have been in labour. I was sick but that was due to talking in too much gas and air - i was in labour for another 5 hours before my daughter was born - by c-section. It's probably best to spk to your midwife/doctor/consultant.
