BAD goldfish problem! HELP!?
I have sick goldfish. He's a big fantail with a tail at least as long as his body A few days ago I noticed he had some "torn" looking fins. They weren't real raggedy, they just looked split into long ribbons. Was mostly on the top fins of his tail. I decided what I was looking at was the beginning of fin rot. I had some melafix in the house and decided to start dosing him. I did it for 3 days and he looked fine.
BUT, just now I went in the bedroom to go to bed...and OMG It's awful! he's covered in white slime or something, all his fins seem to all of a sudden be rotting off and the white slime or sin or what ever is all over one eye, it's so gross, his eye looks like a fried egg or something! he looks miserable too, you know the way goldfish just HANG there. I have no idea what to do!!! is he having a reaction to the melafix? I didn't give him anymore!
HELP!
Pictures taken of the problem (5 minutes ago)
*ADDED* he's in a 10 gallon filtered tank, by himself. I forgot to say I did do a major water change right before Starting the Melafix. I added some aquarium salt today, but did not use the melafix, because I was afraid it was making things worse.
He was NOT like this yesterday.

what size tank is he in?
I'd suggest changing 50% of the water to get some of the disease out and to improve the water quality. then I'd suggest a good medication, it's hard to say if that's a bacterial or fungal infection, so something like furan2 that would take care of either problem is a good idea.

aquarium salt isn't the greatest for goldfish, so I wouldn't use anymore of that... how large was the water change you did?

wright do at least a fifty % water change and then to the new water add some aquarium tonic salt and the first chance you get go to the shop and buy some all round fungal treatment,
the fish is producing a lot of slime coat this will tell you it is not happy that is why its fins are torn from rubbing and most rubbing will occur from bad water conditions or parasites or infection throw fungus.
so means you fish is at such an advanced stage treat the easiest first fungus,
but to be honest you should have noticed the flicking or rubbing with maybe some dorsal fin flashing this would have told you some thing was amiss long before it got to this stage, if it makes it keep a closer eye on it.
hope this helps

Looks like you need to do a water change. And make sure you vacuum the gravel, since that is where you will find waste products. I would change 25% right now. Most fish problems are caused by too much fish waste in the tank. Do a water change every week. Good luck.

most likely its a reaction or infection ......
call an aquariam shop near you and ask for quick advice and maybe describe youre problem by writing it into gogle search im sure youll find youre answer also
Possibly finrot or a fungal disease. I always keep a couple of tubs of treatment to hand and if any of my fish get sick the whole tank gets treated to prevent it spreading to other fish if you have more than one
i hope youre little fella gets beter and good luck!

I recently has a similar problem with a panda colored Moor. Melafix seemed to make it worse to mine as well. :(
Try a salt bath, instructions listed on the above site I linked.
