More information on Abnormal Smear and resulting surgery please?
I had an abnormal smear showing MILD changes to my cells. Because of this and the fact that was going to have a coil fitted the consultant booked me in for a loop excision biopsy. The results of that confirmed that there were "dodgy" cells there. I have to wait six months following that procedure before I can have another smear test to check whether my cells have gone back to normal or are still there.
My nurse wont do my smear test because Im under the care of the hospital . I contacted them and the Consultant's secretary rang me back and said that another consultant had looked at my notes and felt that I should have a Colposcopy rather than a smear test when I am due in December.
Im concerned and no longer understand this as I thought I did. Why now are they talking of a Colposcopy when I have already had a biopsy/loop excision which I understand " jumped the gun" and I should have had a colposcopy first but if I had the incision, what purpose will a colposcopy serve?
Im scared. I have two young children and that is making me scared.
Different people are telling me different things.
Can I not just ask them to give me a hysterectomy and to heck with it.
If you work in this field or have any information then I would be very grateful to hear from you.

Do you have a obgyn? I would consult with a women's health specialist. I had mild dysplasia , they did a colposcopy first to see what exactly it was . Turns out pre cancer ,they froze my cervix{cryo} and I went back in 6 months and it advanced . They did a leep cone after that . I agree yours was done a bit fast . I would find a obgyn to take over . Seems scary but you will be fine . Iam . Good luck .
