Integrating trig functions?

Hi.

How does one integrate the following:

int : sin (xy) dx

    Since the integral uses dx only, we can treat y as if it were a constant.

    I [sin(xy) dx] = -(1/y) cos(xy) + c.

    Now...if y is *not* a constant and is, itself, dependent upon x then I am not certain what could be done to solve the integration other than number-crunching with limits.
