In response to "Defense of Islam" don't you think the following makes sense?
Religions are found at the "birth" (or renewal) of civilizations. The revelation of the Prophet causes the "old world" to be defective and the spirit of the "new world" is shaped by the new revelation. As civilizations and their informing religions age, people fall prey to rituals and dogmas and lose the spirit of their faith. This is, I believe, a natural process by which all life on earth is renewed including God's unfolding revelation to humanity. When a new revelation comes, it is like "judgment day". The true believers are attracted to the truth of the new revelation and those who are merely followers of tradition get stuck defending their rituals and dogmas. However human civilization always moves forward. Sometimes the fruit of a new revelation is not found in the land where the revelation happened but influences a civilization somewhere else; this was the case with Buddhism which began in India but really flourished in the Far East. Also, I believe, that the spirit of the Islamic revelation affected Europe and caused both the Reformation and the Renaissance and ultimately modern science.
The rise of fundamentalist Islam is certainly a response to European colonialism. "How can these people mired in the old teachings of Christianity, possibly be more powerful than the muslim brotherhood!!!" Of course, there was nothing really Christian about Europe at that time. In fact it was the modern spirit of exploration and science that gave them the technological and scientific advantage. Many leaders in muslim countries, such as Ataturk, after the collapse of the Ottoman Empire, realized that modern ideas were not in themselves "evil" and tried to modernize their own countries. The muslim clergy saw this as a affront to orthodox Islam since Mohamed was the last of the Prophets and the Quran was supposed to "modernize" the world of humanity. They fought these modern ideas as "anti-Islamic" but they were also defending their pride for the glory days of Islam when indeed it was the most powerful and scientific civilization on the planet. Kings and strongmen used this fanatic appeal to control their own people and to give them scape goats when their own governments were corrupt. Now the Islamic world is coming face to face with the "modern" world, which is not "Western" or "Christian" at all, but rather secular and based on science and technology. People of every religion are reluctant to see this modernism replace their sacred beliefs. Fundamentalist Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Native Religionists, even neo-Pagans all think this materially based culture is not healthy.
Will there be a new revelation that will guide us into a new global civilization? It will have to advance civilization not bring it backwards. It will have to bring humanity together not drive us apart. It will have to help us understand the purpose of diversity in our history and the need for unity in our future.

Whether it will make sense or not, I still want to know. The other guy might have missed something crucial, that you can pick up, or between the two of you can figure the problem faster than one problem solver at a time. Maybe that person is just going around and around a bush because the ball went down that direction a long time ago still looking for the darn ball. That is why it doesnt make any sense why he cannot find it anymore, "Never" simply means that what you are doing again and again is not working, so give it up and try another way.

I believe Islam did evolve throughout the ages eversince the messengers from the time of Noah until the time of the prophet Muhammad received the first and final revelations from God respectively. Islam has evolved into the final message that God wanted all humanity to assimilate as part of man's daily life and to acknowledge the fact that He has no partner in His Divine dominion.
The impact of Islam on peoples' lives have not only changed their morality but it strengthened their faith and boosted their responsibilities to improve different aspects in their lives. The teachings of Islam have revolutionized how people in Arabia at that time regarded life's outlook as a whole, they acted so differently prior to embracing the new religion and these opened up new avenues for them to be more accomodating to the changing times.
Allah has mentioned that He has perfected Islam as a religion and shall transcend the need for any changes or makeover because it has become a complete code of life for all Muslims. Any new revelation to guide us into a new global civilization as you've mentioned therefore may not be tangible due to the fact that God himself have sealed the fate of the Islamic religion as his true message that shall address the ever changing aspects of man's life

Good things! Your explanation has a lot of good sense.
Big problem for your view to be accepted is in 'blindness and deafness' of the sheep of every religion. They are trained from childhood that their faith is given by God, and that it is only right religion. It is tactic of all religious businessmen who on that way keep their 'milking-sheep'.
Second problem is from very well established connection of organized religion, as oldest and most effective network, with their ruling government who used it to imply taxes, restrictions, or wars on other religions.
Sadly, we today here in the USA have religious channels who promote and justify 'genocide' over the Palestinians by prophecy of some Bar-uh or so. Today this 'hand-by-hand' of the government and religion is well vivid in the Muslims' countries, but yesterday it had been in the Latin America, or in the Europe.
If you are truly believe what did you write, you can start to make change. Start to look for others who have opinions close to yours and start with them to build your network and even 'movement' toward new and better universal relevation.

No, it does not make sense.
Islam did not come into being until 622 AD by a man named Mohammad.
Abraham's name was Abram when Hagar had Ishmael so Ishmael could not be of the Abrahamic covenant. God changed Abram's name to Abraham right before Sarah had Isaac.
Ishmael is the father of the Arabs, not Muslims. Arabs can be any religion they want. However, most of them are Muslims because of their culture.

Hi John, Wow that was quite a mouthful you set out there. Please forgive those of us that had to read it twice to "think" we get what you're speaking of. I did notice that "God loves You" quoted some of the same things you have previously, however it seemed a different context.I'd really like to read that.
This does give one pause, but for me at least it would require a bit more....time thought and research. :)

I fail to see what is so bad about a materially based culture.

Sura 16 that says, "it is only a mortal man who has taught him" the context is that the Koran only came from mortal man and not God, but then he says, "this language is clear Arabic." Muhammad thought for some reason that Arabic was some sort of divine language, but he said this to proof not only was he borrowing from men, but that he was getting revelations from God as well in Arabic. The borrowing was never denied!
Muhammad thought these stories were divine in nature, and came from God, he never denied the borrowing. To him these were not "tales," but true histories. The Quran says, "And that we have related to thee of these HISTORIES of these apostles, is to confirm thy heart thereby. By these hath the truth reached thee..."(Sura 11:121). "Thus do We recite to thee histories of what passed of old; and from ourself have we given thee admonition." (20:99). Again the Koran confirms that these are not "inventions" but true histories, "When at last the Apostles lost all hope, and deemed that they were reckoned as liars, our aid reached them, and we delivered whom we would; but our vengeance was not averted from the wicked. Certainly in their histories is an example for men of understanding. This is no new tale of fiction, but a confirmation of previous scriptures, and an explanation of all things, and guidance and mercy to those who believe.." (12:110-111). Notice, first, these stories are NOT in the Bible. Second Muhammad is saying these stories are known they are not new. And third he believed that they are true and these events happened, but history shows that they are not, they are myths!
And if you did not believe what he said, he told people to ask the "people of the book" to confirm the things he was saying, "If thou art in doubt as to what we have sent down to thee, inquire at those who have read the scriptures before thee. Now hath the TRUTH come unto thee from thy Lord: be not therefore of those who doubt." (Sura 10:94). This proves that these stories WERE KNOWN, but these stories are not in the bible, but in legends and myths. Muhammad thought these were in the bible, and its not true!
Muhammad did not like questions about his faith. In the first chapter of the Koran it says, "No doubt is there about this book" (Sura 2:1). Why shouldn't we put it to the test. What is Allah afraid of?
Muhammad when he was asked questions, "The Holy Prophet himself forbade people to ask questions...so do not try to probe into such things" (The Meaning of the Koran, vol.11, pp.76-77). If you do not want people to investigate, there in itself raises questions to the validity of the faith of Islam. The Bible however says to "prove all things" (1 Thessalonians 5:21). God is challenging us to prove the Bible. That shows confidence in His word that God has, that the Bible is true unlike the Koran which tells us to do the opposite!
