Starting daycare job, need activities for all age groups!?
Hello! I am going for a second interview at a daycare! :) She told me I would be the floater which pretty much means i will be giving breaks to all the teachers and their assistants. Which means that i will be put in all the classes with all diff age groups. from babies to pre school age. I am a mom of a 7 month, yeah i play with him but it's not the same as a toddler, or a 4 year old. So i am asking you all to help me find some activities that will catch the kids attention, and of course to help me get the job!
so please give suggestions from the ages of 13months, to older toddlers, to 3 yrs, 4 yrs, to pre schoolers!
thankkkssss

My 2 year old loves anything that involves a ball.
My 3 year old loves dancing and musical chairs is her favorite game.
Free play is most important at the preschool level. As long as this day care has plenty of activity stations all you will need to do is interact with the children in their own activities.
Good luck!

You should be well versed on the physical and psychological needs
of the children. The activities should be age appropriate and should cater to their growth and development.just google ownadaycare- it can help you a lot. they have tons of articles regarding children's activities in this setting.

well, for the first one, asking a child to sit in time out but he dosen't stay, get him in the chair, then push the chair in to the closest table (But not so much you're hurting the child.) then keep your hands on the chair to keep him/her in there. Don't walk away from the chair until the child is sitting quietly, it might take a while the first couple of times, because if the kids aren't used to you making them sit in time out then they'll keep trying to get out of the chair. If they succeed in getting out of the chair then just pick them up and put them back in the chair and push the chair in again.

I wouldn't worry too much about that if it's a professional day care like it sounds then I'm sure they already have lesson plans and play time already planned out. You'll have to follow what they give you and not what you come up with.
