Opinion of the Bibleman TV show?
I have several questions.
1.)Has anyone ever seen the TV show Bibleman? I am 28 years old and was watching tv late one night and just happened to come across it. I'm not religious, but was raised Catholic. Is it just me or does it seem like they are using violence along with biblical teaching to "destroy" a sin or evil person? Is this what we want our children to learn....that it takes violence to destroy sin?
2.) The show is extremely corny made to look like power rangers, and it also seems that the show is very conservative. Would this be accurate to say?
3.) Does anyone know the name of the denomination or church group that produces the show?
Thanks. I'm curious to hear your thoughts.
I do agree that the violence is no different than what kids see on a regular basis. I was just curious to see your thoughts. It is a very corny show and it made me laugh when I saw some episodes on you tube, and I was crackin up! I was just curious how many people actually watch it. No one knows who produces it or what church they are affiliated with?
My favorite was "The Fibbler"

"Bibleman" is the funniest damn thing I've seen in a very long time.
I don't know who produces it, but it once again proves (much like Christian rock music and comedy) that taking a secular topic like the traditional superhero archetype and giving it a religious spin will always lead to disastrous, unintentionally funny, results. Extremely lame.

I was curious about what you said, so I looked Bibleman on Youtube and man, I don't mean to be insulting but that was one of the most retarded things I've ever seen! That bible dude looks like a Star Wars impersonator, only way lamer! Who invented that show, anyway?

It was so long ago that I saw Bibleman. It was awesome though. Thank you for reminding me of, I'm gonna watch some now!

I doubt that Bibleman puts forth anything more violent or shocking than what kids would find if they actually read the Bible.

My son has a few of the tapes.
I think the violence was meant to represent the "sword of word".
Boys like it and it keeps their attention.
My son is 12 now and feels the call to be a pastor. Not sure if this or the Donut Man had anything to do with it.

Willie Aames nailed it, oscar worthy
