I'm visiting my future in-laws for the first time, what do I bring?

I know it may seem old-fashioned and it seems like nobody brings presents or gifts anymore while visiting, but I've never been to someone's house without bringing a bottle of wine or some gifts. I'm visiting my future in-laws for the first time, what do I bring? I don't really know them and I don't want to give them wine as my fiance says his mom is trying to cut back, so other than flowers, what's a good gift?

Ask your man if they watch movies, and if they like popcorn and snacks, and if they do, get a gift basket. Have some of their favorite munchies in it. Then, you know they will use it and enjoy it. If they aren't into that, get them a bath gift basket with nice soaps and lotions in it. If they play games, maybe bring a game that the 4 of you can play. And you are right- if you go to someone's house, bringing a gift shows that you have class. So you are right in doing it. Who isn't into chocolate? As a last resort, get a gift basket with chocolates in it or candies. Good luck!

The main person to ask is your future hubby.

I think bringing food is touchy.

I personally think live plants are great. They are decorative, and go with most any color in rooms.

Ask your future hubby if his parents have plants, and if so, what type of plants they like. Ask if they are alergic to anything. If they are alergic to flowers or frangrances, then get one that doesn't flower.

Then go to a reputable nursery and talk to someone. Get something that doesn't require major special care and isn't huge. About medium size. Maybe even one in a nice, but not too decorative container.

How about a fancy fruit basket Like Edibles? Or some exquisite baked goods and gourmet coffee?
