In Yahoo! Mail, why is it necessary to show me the empty spam folder after I just emptied it?

When checking my yahoo email, I often click "empty" next to my spam folder to empty all my spam. After I do that, no matter which folder (inbox, etc.) I am currently viewing, it goes to the spam folder. Why would it do that? I just emptied it because I didn't want to view it. Why would it bring me there anyways?

Because Yahoo is cheap, and didn't script the command just to delete it, all it does is like a redirect command. That's why you end up in that folder.

When you empty spam folder online, system need to send back the successful sign and let you know. If it doesn't go to the spam folder and the operation is failed, you will not know it.

It is just a security step to acknowledge that was the folder that you emptied.
