What is the proper way to say the following in Spanish?

I walk to school (shop, etc).

Ando en la escuela (en la tienda).

or perhaps

Ando a la escuela (a la tienda, etc.).

The question is about the "en" vs "a" with "andar".

Thank you.

    ¡Hi! =)

    It is correct like this:

    -Voy andando a la escuela...or...

    -Voy caminando a la escuela.

(Caminado and andando are sinonims) With andar is always used "a".

-En, means "in"or "by"...A, means "to".

Voy en coche a la escuela, I go by car to school.

Estoy en Madrid, I´m in Madrid.

    "Yo camino a la escuela"

    "Estoy en la escuela"

"Voy caminando a la escuela con mi amigo" > I walk to school with my friend.

This doesn't sound correct. You'd have to say:

Voy a la escuela a pie.

    or

    Camino a la escuela.

If you still need to use 'andar', go for

    Ando a la escuela.

    Use 'a' to mean to.

    Ando a la escuela.

Many people also say Camino a la escuela.
