Recharging cell phone battery - daily vs. only when needed? Which extends life of battery?

My cell phone battery lasts me about 3 (three) days without charging.

I am in the habit of plugging it in every night, and I am wondering, is it better for the life of the battery to do as I am doing (daily topping up of charge), or would it be healthier for the battery if I allowed it do run down (ie only charge it every third day) ?

Thanks!

its best to let it run down then to charge it up... phones have a limited amount of charges and everytime ou plug it in it is counting a charge... unless you have an iphone....

I have heard its better to let the battery run to almost dead then charge it. When the battery is on charging everynight, a full charge may not be a true full charge. But I am not sure if they have actual proof to back up the claim better to let a batter run almost dead then charge. But hey that is what I've heard.
